The process of writing a book can be daunting. Whether you're a professional looking to share your expertise, an entrepreneur with a story to tell, or simply someone with a creative spark, I’m here to help you bring your book to life.
As a former attorney and experienced writing coach/ghostwriter, I am uniquely positioned to guide you through this process. Here’s why:
Let’s work together to turn your ideas into a compelling, polished book.
Hello. My name is Jen and I'm a recovering attorney. I'm also the Founder and Boss Lady at Attorney to Author.
I was a California lawyer for nearly two decades. During my career, I worked at a large firm, a boutique litigation firm, and I even had my own solo shop for a bit.
In 2013, I gave it all up for a career in writing. I've ghostwritten books, worked as a freelance writer, and even served as the marketing/messaging director for a large craft brewery. My favorite gig of all time, however, has been working as an author/writing coach.
To me, the work is a lot like taking depositions (something I loved to do as an attorney). My job is to use guided conversation to pull the most out of you that I possibly can. The main difference is that rather than trying to get you to reveal the smoking gun, I'm helping you to organize your writing, develop plot lines, and create a book that other people can't put down.
I should tell you that I don't accept every potential client who contacts me, nor should I. The relationship between author & coach (or ghostwriter) is an important one. We'll work together, laugh together, cry together, and sometimes fight with each other. I'll hold you accountable. I'll fiercely protect your voice and style, but I will also tell you if your writing falls short. In order to do all that while extracting your best work, our personalities have to mesh.

In addition to my work as an author coach, I also take on two ghostwriting engagements per year. Only two? Yes, only two.
Ghostwriting someone else's novel is an intense process. In order to write your book, I need to be able to assume your voice and style at my whim. If I do that for more than two people at a time, I risk blending styles or giving you a book that is not uniquely yours.
If you're interested in having a former attorney ghostwrite your legal thriller (or anything else), let's talk.
Before accepting a ghostwriting engagement, I prefer to meet face-to-face with the author. If you want to travel to me on an island just outside of Seattle, I can arrange for beautiful accommodations.
The client pays all travel costs in advance if I come to you.
As a first-time author, I was initially daunted by the idea of writing a book. However, from the moment I began working with Jennifer, the process unfolded with such ease and grace that it felt like a natural extension of my thoughts and creativity. Every step of the way, I was surprised by the way she could capture with clarity and fluidity - my own ideas. The journey of writing my book was nothing short of transformational.
With every chapter, I grew more confident in my ability to weave together my unique narrative, expressing my voice and leaving an indelible mark on the literary world. The sense of accomplishment and fulfillment I have experienced in bringing this book to life is truly unparalleled.
As I reflect on the legacy I am leaving by having written this book, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. Not only have I created something that will stand the test of time, but I have also contributed to the tapestry of human experience and knowledge.
My words will continue to inspire, educate, and touch the hearts of countless readers for generations to come. For anyone considering embarking on this extraordinary journey, I wholeheartedly encourage you to take the plunge.
Writing a book may seem like a formidable task, but Jen makes the journey not only painless but enlightening as well. The rewards and the legacy you leave behind are immeasurable. Embrace the process, trust in your voice, and watch as your story
unfolds, leaving an impact that will echo through the ages.
